It's almost become the first choice for a lot of people, when the purpose is to quench their thirst. Many businesses have been built while using this product as their ultimate selling point. People gather every day to share a laugh, to share a smile and to share a beer. To some people, being able to drink a beer is like the rite of passage into adulthood. I don't know, maybe it's because there are laws against underage drinking, so when you're able to take that first legal drink, it tastes so much better. Beer, like sports, seems to have a way of bringing people together.

In 1975, the recently deceased Judith Rossner published her best selling book, Looking for Mr. Goodbar. The book told the story of a young female schoolteachers search for the perfect man, Mr. Goodbar. Her relentless cruising of the singles bars and her increasing flirtation with danger ultimately leads to her descent into hell and her subsequent murder. As children, you rode in cars with no seat belts or air bags. Riding in the back of a pickup truck on a warm day was always a special treat. You drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle. You shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle, and no one actually died from this. You'd leave home in the morning and play all day, walk to school, as long as you were back when the streetlights came on. No one was able to reach you all day. And you were OK. Besides Mom was always back home. You only had one car.
